Club and Guest Information

Mission Statement:

Old Warson Country Club is a family-oriented private club that offers a premier golf course to its members and guests, outstanding year-round dining, social and recreational activities that encourage participation and usage. We desire a diversified membership comprised of successful, compatible individuals who have a high standard of conduct along with the ability to utilize the club's services.

Overview & History:

Old Warson Country Club is an award winning Platinum Private Club based on tradition and family. In 1953, there had not been a new golf club established in St. Louis in over 25 years. Yet, the founders of Old Warson, Al Hayes and Jim Rarick, found the perfect piece of property, hired the premier golf architect of the day (Robert Trent Jones) and formed Old Warson Country Club. The foundation of the club has always been based on the key principle of quality.

Old Warson was established in 1955, and through the years, has risen to prominence for having one of the country's outstanding golf courses. But Old Warson is not just about golf - we have a diverse membership that enjoys our wonderful tennis courts, swimming pool, and elegant clubhouse facilities. The constant beautification and development of the grounds and clubhouse has produced the great club that exists today.

The Ryder Cup in 1971 remains the single most significant event in our history – the most prestigious golf event to have been hosted at Old Warson. The Ryder Cup Program, prepared by the Club was an excellent example of our ability to provide an outstanding product to showcase not only Old Warson, but St. Louis and the surrounding area.

Throughout the Club's history, a select few amateur golf events have been held at the Club. Among these have been four outstanding National Championships; the Western Amateur, the Trans-Mississippi National, the United States Golf Association Mid-Amateur, and most recently the 2009 Women's Amateur.

Old Warson was honored by being named the #1 Country Club in Saint Louis in 2010 by Ladue News. To create the perfect atmosphere, we cater to the needs of our members and their guests in all aspects of food and service. Whether it's a burger at our bar or an eight course extravaganza at the Chef's table, the unparalleled service and excellent cuisine make each and every dining experience at Old Warson truly unique.

Membership at Old Warson Country Club is a very special honor. The Board of Directors is committed to maintaining our high standards, while encouraging the advancement of qualified candidates. Because Old Warson Country Club is an elite private club, we abide by traditional club policies for membership. Membership is by invitation only. Potential members must be sponsored by an active member and be approved by the Board of Directors before access to the club is granted. We encourage our members to help us maintain the high quality of our membership and continue to sponsor candidates that will make Old Warson Country Club a better place for future generations.
